What is Product Management?

Product Management is the team at the intersection of the Market, Customers, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Executive and the Development teams. A product must align with the market, the go-to-market channels, and within budget. It is a job that needs to create alignment within an organization or the product and features will fail. Everyone needs a defined role in a company and everyone in a company needs to feel ownership in the product direction. You know you are doing a good job in Product Management if the market and everyone in the company knows most of the value your product delivers.
